The Director of Assessment plays a critical role in leading the development, implementation, and oversight of assessment strategies across both academic and non-academic units within the University of Austin. This leadership position requires extensive experience in assessment processes, with a focus on research, data analysis, and continuous improvement. The Director will work closely with university stakeholders to enhance organizational effectiveness, support accreditation efforts, and ensure alignment with university goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment Strategy Leadership: Collaborate with academic and non-academic stakeholders to design and lead comprehensive assessment strategies that align with university goals and meet accreditation standards.
  • Implementation Oversight: Direct the execution of assessment processes across units, ensuring consistency, methodological integrity, and alignment with accreditation requirements.
  • Data Collection and Analytics: Leverage advanced research and analytics expertise to collect, analyze, and interpret data, providing actionable insights to inform institutional decision-making and improve overall unit performance.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare and present detailed assessment reports that summarize findings, trends, and actionable recommendations. Communicate findings effectively to university leadership and stakeholders.
  • Training and Development: Provide leadership in training faculty, staff, and administrators on best practices in assessment, data collection, and analysis to foster university-wide engagement with assessment efforts.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and ensure the quality and integrity of all assessment processes, recommending and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Accreditation and Compliance: Ensure assessment processes are in full alignment with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements, supporting the university’s compliance efforts and maintaining accreditation status.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead efforts to drive the continuous enhancement of assessment practices, integrating new assessment innovations and methodologies into university-wide systems.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Foster effective communication and collaboration with university departments, ensuring transparency and accountability in assessment efforts.
  • Research and Innovation: Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in assessment, ensuring the university remains at the forefront of assessment innovation and effectiveness.
  • Other tasks and duties as required.


Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., education, psychology, statistics, social sciences).
  • Demonstrated experience in research design, data collection, analysis, and reporting within a higher education setting.
  • Significant experience with assessment principles, methodologies, and accreditation processes within a university environment.
  • Strong expertise in higher education accreditation standards and processes.
  • Experience working directly with faculty, deans, and other university leadership to develop and implement assessment strategies and initiatives.
  • Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R, SAS) and advanced data analytics.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse university departments.
  • Demonstrated project management abilities with experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong commitment to fostering a culture of continuous assessment and improvement.
