Medical Billing Specialist

Pay $20-$22 and Hybrid Schedule after onsite training is completed!

Main Function:

Provides accurate and timely accounts receivable follow up, appeals and corrected claims submission to medical insurance carriers. This position requires extensive interaction with insurance companies and may require phone interaction with patients at times.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Full cycle billing, claims processing including electronic claim submission and submission of paper claims as needed, payment processing and denial follow up
• Complete knowledge and understanding of various insurance carriers and their respective plans
• Follow up on insurance claim aging, re-submit insurance claims as necessary and maintain knowledge of up-to-date timely filing restrictions
• Resolve denied claims via appeals, dispute unpaid (rejected) claims, and handle other issues with EOBs
• Communicate with coding team to resolve coding-related denials
• Ability to identify denial trends and collaborate with supervisor for special projects
• Knowledge of various online portals to utilize in day to day operations
• Occasionally collect on patient balances and answer/resolve patient billing inquiries
• Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding
• Provide worked aging reports to your direct supervisor or manager

· Perform other duties as directed

Qualifications:

· 2 years of billing and/or coding experience

· Surgical billing experience HIGHLY preferred

· EMR Experience, preferably Medent

• Knowledge of WNY Healthenet, Reveal, Payspan, Connex, EPaces, Avality, Change and others.
• Microsoft office Knowledge, especially Excel and Outlook
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and remain organized
• Task oriented, attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to work both independently and as a team

Must have the ability to work overtime hours when necessary

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

• Medical billing: 2 years (Required)
• Surgical Billing: 2 years (Required)
• EMR systems: 1 year (Required)
• CPT coding: 1 year (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

• Buffalo, NY 14221: Relocate before starting work (Required)
