What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner, Pain Management position at UB Neurosurgery, Inc?
Summary: Responsible for seeing new and follow-up patients at UBNS Pain Clinic. In addition, the PA will have an opportunity to perform various nerve blocks and injections (Occipital nerve block, cervical, thoracic and lumbar trigger point injections, bursa injections, knee and shoulder injections, and Botox).
The PA will work in collaboration and under the direction of the Pain Physician.
Essential Functions

· Performing comprehensive and problem focused histories and physical examinations, interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests.
· Formulate a differential diagnosis establish and a working diagnosis. Develop a treatment plan for neurosurgical conditions within the scope of practice and in conjunction with the neurosurgeon. Implement therapeutic intervention for specific conditions were appropriate.
· Exercise judgment on conditions requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation by the supervising pain physician.
· Write orders, progress notes, perform all history and physicals, order appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests such as MRI's, and other radiographic studies as needed or indicated.
· Assist with phone calls from patients, handle prescription refills, review radiographic reports laboratory reports for abnormalities.
· Obtain informed consent as needed for procedures.
· Maintain appropriate billing information and monitor adequate completion of patient note.
· Coordinate care with patient primary physician and other agencies as necessary.
· Document appropriately and accurately in a timely fashion the patient interaction, care and treatment of patient.
· Perform chart reviews to assure quality of documentation.
· Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education/Experience
· Must be a graduate of NCCPA approved Physician Assistant program and have a current New York State Physician Assistant licensure.
· 2 years’ experience providing patient care.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
