About The Role
The Collections Specialist III position is a key customer service role within Uber Freight, serving as a key contributor to the collections team. This position is responsible for managing the most complex and high-priority customer accounts.
What The Candidate Will Do
- Manage customer account assignments, including highly complex and high-value accounts.
- Develop and analyze detailed customer aging reports to identify trends and recommend actionable insights for improving collections metrics.
- Utilize advanced Excel functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, PivotTables, conditional formatting, and complex formulas) to manage account balance spreadsheets and reporting.
- Act as a liaison between customers, billing, and operations teams to address escalated issues and drive resolution of billing discrepancies.
- Lead the implementation of corrective action plans for high-risk accounts and ensure timely updates in the financial system.
- Review and analyze customer payment histories to identify root causes of delays and propose strategies for improved payment compliance.
- Share best practices with Collections Specialists I and II to improve efficiency and effectiveness in account management, providing guidance on resolving complex account issues when needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine internal collections processes and tools.
- Ensure all work performed on accounts is accurately documented and complies with company policies and regulatory standards.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2 years of collections experience, including work on high-priority or complex accounts.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Use of advanced features in Microsoft Excel such as PivotTables, V-lookup, and complex formulas
- At least 3 years of experience in Finance Accounts Receivable.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify patterns and implement process improvements.
- Proven track record of mentoring team members and managing escalated customer situations.
