The COTA 2 performs patient treatments and patient care activities under the general supervision of a Registered / Licensed Occupational Therapist. The position is directly responsible to an Occupational Therapist for the performance of duties as assigned and supervised by the therapist.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Implement established occupational therapy programs in assigned areas of responsibility in collaboration with and / or under general supervision of the registered occupational therapist
- Provide patient treatment which may include exercise and activities to promote optimal joint range of motion, strength, endurance, coordination, balance, activities of daily living, cognitive and visual perceptual activities
- Consistently achieves productivity standard established by the Department of PM&R
- Reviews and studies appropriate materials to keep abreast of state-of-the-art equipment in Occupational Therapy and shares information with Occupational Therapy staff
- Takes courses as appropriate to increase the quality of job performance
- Educational Activities
- Miscellaneous Assignments as required
