Nurse Manager T8 Transplant/Metabolic

Registered Nurses in the Transplant Metabolic department at UC Davis Medical Center provide care to adult and pediatric with a variety of medical surgical needs. Patient conditions include: Pre-op and Post-op care of Renal/Liver transplant patients. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the daily twenty-four (24) hour planning, organizing, directing and controlling of the daily operations and clinical practice of assigned patient care areas, in order to provide quality, individualized patient care and support of Medical Center philosophies. The Nurse Manager will lead staff to model a professional practice environment by: providing a clinically competent staff; encouraging strong interdisciplinary team collaboration and communication; supporting autonomy and accountability; providing staff opportunities for in-service and formal education; stressing the importance of continuous learning; and supporting a culture where concern for the patient is paramount. The Nurse Manager assumes fiscal responsibility through preparation of unit budgets, supports research, participates in both long and short term strategic planning, and assures patient advocacy. The Nurse Manager is accountable to the Associate Chief Nursing Officer, Patient Care Services.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

• A valid California Registered Nurse License
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Master’s degree required in nursing or other related field
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing management experience required.

Knowledgeable and proficient in the use of health care technology within specialty area 5. Preferred Qualifications

• Certification of field of practice preferred (if appropriate)

Department Overview

Tower 8 Transplant-Metabolic Unit is a 28-bed acute care unit. The unit provides advanced assessment and specialized care for patients undergoing solid organ transplant (kidney, liver, pediatric kidney). Additionally, care is provided for telemetry, pulmonary hypertension, urologic surgery, oncology and a wide variety of medical-surgical patients.
