Position Summary :
Incumbent serves as first point of contact for patients in the ambulatory clinics. Performs general clerical and reception duties. Enters patient data to the registration system and verifies insurance and / or third party coverage. Schedules, confirms, and cancels patient appointments. Utilizes a team-based approach to delivering patient care services.

Salary Range :
Hourly Rate Minimum $22.12 Midpoint $24.79 Maximum $27.45
Required Qualifications :
- Must be able to work weekends / holidays
- Ability to effectively read, write and speak English
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval
- Demonstrated experience using office equipment such as a printer, copier, fax, scanner
- Demonstrated experience using a multi-line telephone system
- Ability to make simple calculations and perform simple math
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Preferred Qualifications :
Demonstrated experience working with TDS, Signature, IDX
Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
Demonstrated experience working in a hospital or medical office setting
Demonstrated knowledge of insurance programs and / or government programs
Demonstrated experience working in registration, scheduling, and / or authorization process
