Your Role on the Team
Position Summary
Reports directly to the Director of Perioperative Services; and under the guidance of the surgery Clinical Coordinator and Charge Nurse, the surgery scrub tech is responsible for performing scrub duties and maintaining an environment conducive to the care and safety of all patients under his/her care. The Surgical Tech will demonstrate knowledge in the theory and application of the principles of asepsis and sterile technique to combine with their knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a surgeon’s performance of surgical procedures. Demonstrates adherence to Universal Protocol with every surgical procedure. Ensures and participates in optimal teamwork with the OR and other facility departments and demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to changing situations. Is able to ensure effective communication with all members of the perioperative team. Must be adaptable to a broad spectrum of personality characteristics.

Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited vocational program in surgical technology or military trained.
- Preferred Education: Associate Degree in surgical technology Preferred Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience with varied operating room experiences within the last 3 years preferred.
- Required Certification/Licensure: AHA BLS
- Preferred Certifcation/Licensure: CST-Certified Surgical Technologist
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
