Position description
Associate Specialist- Jan lab
Department of Physiology
University of California, San Francisco
The Department of Physiology is now recruiting an Associate Specialist. The new Associate Specialist is expected to conduct specific research projects and write research manuscripts. The areas of specialization will include:
- Neurodevelopment and neuronal membrane proteomics
- Neurogenetics and behavioral and molecular neuroscience of Drosophila
Required Qualifications:
- At least a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or five to ten years of research experience
- Background and experience in laboratory research on neural development, neurogenetics and behavioral neuroscience of Drosophila
- Experience with fly live imaging, immunofluorescence staining, molecular biology, cell culture, proteomics (western blotting and protein enrichment for mass spectrometry), fly genetics, fly mutagenesis, fly behaviors, confocal microscopy
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of post-graduate training in the field
- PhD in Neurobiology or related specialisms
- Post-graduate training in field
