Position description
- Lead a research program to investigate the mechanistic basis of monocyte differentiation to mature macrophages and dendritic cells in the context of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection.
- Oversee the activities of a Staff Research Associate or Specialist performing investigative laboratory work related to the primary and related themes of the research program.
- Contribute to training of graduate and post-baccalaureate students in the laboratory.
- Contribute to overall management of the laboratory and the Biosafety Level 3 and Animal Biosafety Level 3 facility.
- PhD degree with documented applicable experience in tuberculosis research involving animal models.
- Postdoctoral level knowledge and experience investigating myeloid cell biology in the context of M. tuberculosis infection.
- Documented experience in BSL3 and ABSL3-contained research.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.
- Excellent communication skills and experience in public presentations of research results.
- Ability to obtain peer-reviewed extramural funding to support research efforts.
- Experience with laboratory and animal colony management.
