The focus of the position will be plan, organize, coordinate, and prepare civil engineering designs, prepare engineering analysis and design of structural systems, and coordinate and review work of engineering partners for assigned multi-discipline projects from pre-contract sales support to order release and through customer acceptance of deliverable ensuring that technical, quality, schedule and cost commitments are met.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated capabilities in collaborating with others to perform engineering tasks within a team environment.
Civil Structural Engineer
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the civil and structural design for assigned contracts in accordance with scope, schedule, budget and quality requirements.
- Incorporate the use of Structural Department standards, software, and applicable design codes and standards in the preparation of all design assignments and proposals to meet customer specifications and code requirements.
- Ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with customer specifications, local, state and federal regulations and standards.
- Responsible for the preparation of engineering analysis and design of structural steel and reinforced concrete systems in compliance with customer specifications, local, state and federal regulations codes and standards.
- Ensure any variance and scope changes are acted upon and documents them in accordance with the cost and quality management process.
- Organize, direct, and coordinate all design assignment activities for assigned contract and proposal work in accordance with Corporate Policies, Guidelines and Procedures Manual and Department requirements.
- Maintain effective communication and working relationships within the department and between departments thus promoting a cooperative team atmosphere.
- Write work scope documents and specifications, coordinate and review work performed by engineering partners.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of civil engineering plans, specifications in accordance with scope, schedule, budget and quality requirements.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering is required. Master’s degree is preferred.
- 5 years civil or structural engineering experience.
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of design and analysis methods for structural steel and reinforced concrete structures, IBC, AISC, ACI, AWS, API, NFPA, OSHA and other applicable codes
- Proficiency in heavy Industrial Structural Steel and foundation (shallow and deep) design.
- Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals is preferred.
- Knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D is a plus.
- General business acumen
Certification and Licenses:
- Professional Engineering license or ability to obtain license within 1 year is preferred.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex engineering concepts and solutions to team members and clients.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex engineering problems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
Essential Physical Abilities:
- Ability to sit or stand at a desk using a computer 80% of the time.
- Ability to travel 10% of the time to client sites

Compensation and Benefits
Base Pay Range: $72,000 to $95,000 annual pay based on skills and experience
