POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for providing lending, clerical and service support for the Commercial Real Estate loan portfolio and Commercial Department. Provides high quality and professional service to UCCU members and borrowers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
1. Provides effective clerical and service support for all phases of commercial loan activities
a. Assists officers and management in pre & post loan activities.
b. Prepares new loan files and paid-in-full files for quality control and compliance to regulation and UCCU policy.
c. Proactively monitors annual file maintenance and works with borrowers in providing additional documentation and updates as required.
d. Monitors loan collateral to ensure insurance, taxes, and other requirements are current and in compliance.
e. Provides marketing assistance to help increase business.
2. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective and professional business relations with borrowers.
a. Addresses requests and questions promptly and courteously.
b. Ensures that members are appropriately informed of Credit Union loan policies and closing procedures.
c. Obtains and conveys information as needed.
d. Maintains the Credit Union's professional reputation.
3. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and communication with area personnel and with management.
a. Supports and assists department personnel as needed.
b. Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant concerns.
c. Attends and participates in meetings as required.
d. Completes monthly reports as assigned.
4. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
a. Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
b. Performs related departments’ functions as necessary.
c. Stays informed regarding policy and procedural changes.
d. Actively and professionally cross-sells Credit Union services.
e. Completes special projects as assigned.
f. Works a regular and predictable schedule.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
1. Records, reports, and all related documents are accurate, current, and submitted on time.
2. Construction and commercial functions are completed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
3. Good business relations exist with borrowers, brokers, and contractors. Problems and questions are courteously and promptly resolved.
4. Good working relations and communications exist with Credit Union personnel and with management. Assistance and support are provided as needed. Management is appropriately informed.
5. Loan functions are completed in accordance with established policies and procedures
6. Files are current and well organized. Document preparation is accurate, neat, and timely.
8. The Credit Union's professional reputation is maintained and conveyed.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High school graduate or equivalent.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE : Knowledge of lending and loan servicing preferred but not required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: One to two years or related office experience.
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Good organizational skills, accurate, and attentive to detail.
Efficient use of computer applications.
Able to learn quickly and work under pressure.
Excellent verbal, written, and public relation skills.
Good math skills.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
FINGER DEXTERITY: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
