The UCF Mobile Health Clinic is dedicated to expanding access to healthcare by providing no-cost health screenings, preventative services and primary care directly to patients in Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties.
Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm Evenings and weekend coverage for events as needed.
Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant for Mobile Health. You will be a part of the Mobile Unit going to events and
Reports To: The Certified Medical Assistant position will report directly to the Mobile Health Manager
Position Summary: Serves patients by providing clinical and business office assistance in the community, on the mobile health unit.
Responsibilities:
Patient Care
Adheres to infection control policies and standards.
- Documents all interactions appropriately in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Explains treatment procedures to patients.
- Prepares patients for examinations.
- Provides patient with patient education when needed or directed by provider. Use of the Language Line and ASL services as needed.
- Prepares and administering medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, intradermal, and subcutaneous injectionsincluding vaccinations/immunizations, as directed by a physician or other licensed provider (e.g., a nurse practitioner or physician assistant).
- Wound care and changing dressings.
- Transmitting prescription refills as ordered by physician.
- Taking vital signs as proper triage review and update medical records at time of visits
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
Lab Reports, X-rays, Tests
- Collects and prepares laboratory specimens.
- Performs point-of-care testing.
- Phlebotomy.
- Documented results communicated to the patient after physician has reviewed the results.
Administrative Duties
- Uses computer applications.
- Welcomes patients.
- Register patients in EMR and updates patient medical records.
- Schedules appointments if necessary.
- Ensures proper forms are signed and dated, such as consent to treat, Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN) forms, medical releases, and HIPAA forms.
- Assist with inventory of medical supplies and medications.
Assisting with routine set up and take down of Mobile Health Unit
- Independently arrives at correct location of mobile unit.
- Evenings and weekend coverage for events as needed.
- Assists with set up and take down of supplies, chairs, tables, tents. patient materials, etc.
- Prepares rooms and instruments for examination and testing
- Stocks supplies and cleans equipment per protocol. Manage biohazardous waste.

Education
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant. (1) two-year college degree or (2) completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.
