Nursing Leadership for a Specific Shift and Unit/Area
Provides nursing leadership for a specific shift and unit/area, ensuring high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervises and mentors staff during assigned shifts, determining staffing levels and assignments based on staff availability, abilities, census, and patient acuity.
- Provides direct patient care as needed, floating between staff to assist with problem-solving and taking patient assignments to meet staffing needs.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of patient care, identifying issues that affect desired patient outcomes and responding to complaints through established channels.
- Performs role-specific duties, including entering orders, performing admissions or discharges, and coordinating transfers, while ensuring staff has necessary equipment and supplies.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing-approved Registered/Professional Nursing program (less than 3 years experience) or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (preferred).
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- 1 year of nursing experience.
- Advanced CPI certification within 30 days upon hire and yearly recertification to meet BHA rules and regulations.
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
