Responsibilities:
- Explains financial responsibilities for services received, payment options, and collection procedures.
- Explains insurance benefits, eligibility, requirements, and estimated patient liability based upon analysis and verification of insurance benefits.
- Recommends alternative sources of payment and/or financial assistance when appropriate.
- Communicates with insurance carriers, alternative payment sources, and healthcare providers to act as an advocate for the patient.
- Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
