FTE: Full Time, 1.0, 40.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Flex

Pay: $22.14 - $28.78 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Summary

Supervises the operations of a defined laboratory section.

Responsibilities

• Establishes policies, procedures, and protocols for specimen collection and processing.
• Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels. Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Assesses quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures and protocols.
• Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels. Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints. Serves as a consultant to laboratory staff as well as other members of the healthcare team as needed. Acts as manager in their absence.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
  
  

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program.
• Certified as a Donor Phlebotomy Technician by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent within one year of hire or eligibility.
• 2 years of related experience.
• BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
