The Advanced Energy Technologies (AET) Directorate is seeking a Division Financial Representative / Financial Analyst who will work directly with division management and will oversee all financial activities of the assigned division. The selected candidate will provide specialized expertise in financial operations and budgetary controls, provide appropriate solutions within internal and external policies and guidelines. Key responsibilities include budget development and implementation, cost tracking and monitoring, financial reporting, assisting with funding proposals, overseeing division financial practices, and coordinating financial forecasts, procurements, and agreements. The selected candidate will prepare monthly, routine, and ad hoc financial reports and analyses, ensuring timely and accurate information for decision-making. This role requires in-depth knowledge of policies, financial systems, external regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency. The candidate will prioritize, identify, and resolve strategic financial issues, ensuring the effective integration and delivery of financial services within their area of responsibility.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as a point of contact for all financial related matters for an assigned division
- Manage the assigned area's financial budgeting, planning, spending, and forecasting.
- Perform complex financial analysis and cost control functions; research and synthesize data; identify trends, draw conclusions; develop solutions; present and implement recommendations, and create follow up analysis.
- Provide guidance on financial policies, procedures and requirements while maintaining broader organizational perspective.
- Provide consulting advice to stakeholders on matters involving complex financial subject matter expertise including proposal development.
- Monitor spending, analyze variances, identify funding problems, identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Exercise funds control over purchases, subcontracts, service contracts, travel, service requests, material orders, effort charges, etc.
- Ability to work under limited direction to accomplish objectives.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail
- Ability in handling multiple tasks to accurately manage conflicting priorities, and to meet commitments.
- Ability to cross-train and mentor team members.
Position Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of budget management, financial analysis, and accounting principles.
- Advanced proficiency in business applications.
- Skills in managing and querying databases to run reports
- Knowledge of program/divisional financial activities.
- Knowledge of direct and indirect allocation and full cost recovery budget and financial procedures.
- Experience in financial analysis, budgeting, modeling, and understanding financial processes to identify and implement improvements.
- Knowledge of proposal documentation and flow.
- Analytical and quantitative skills and ability to organize and manage financial situations.

Full timeThe expected hiring range for this position is $73,793.00 - $116,445.42.Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
