Occupational Safety Intern
Join a team of Occupational Safety Professionals who partner and collaborate with all Argonne personnel to safely accomplish the laboratory's mission. This internship provides hands-on experience and exposure to a wide range of occupational safety activities. Interns will have the opportunity to:
Assist and advise Argonne’s personnel in implementing safety policies and procedures.
Interpret and apply federal, state, and local regulations and consensus standards to support Argonne’s mission.
Work alongside safety subject matter experts (SMEs) to evaluate and familiarize themselves with compliance-based approaches.
Inventory confined spaces.
Assess Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) stations.
Conduct comparative analyses.
Contribute to process development to streamline work activities and implement best practices in safety.
Education and Experience Requirements
Applicants should have a career interest in occupational or industrial safety, although no prior experience is required.
Must be currently enrolled full-time at an accredited institution or program and have completed at least one semester of schooling by the start of the program.
Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
Must possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
If accepting an offer, must pass a screening drug test.
Applicants must have a Real ID.
Must be a U.S. citizen or Legal Permanent Resident at the time of application

HourlyThe expected hiring range for this position is $18.08 - $45.54.Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs. Additionally, comprehensive benefits are part of the total rewards package.
