Your Role on the Team
Position Summary
The laboratory assistant obtains and processes clinical specimens for testing and performs various clerical duties in the clinical laboratory. Assigned job duties are performed independently, and he/ she assists other personnel in the operation of the laboratory. He delivers reports to nursing units and communicates with the responsible healthcare providers via mail, telephone, and fax. He/ she is under the supervision of the Phlebotomy Supervisor and Administrative Director, Laboratory.

Required Qualifications
Valid Certified Phlebotomy technician certificate issued by the state of California Department of Health Services
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
- Acute care hospital experience
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
