Position Title : Process Engineer FLSA Status : Non-Exempt

Primary Responsibly :

Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles and methodology to improve production capacity and minimize system waste.

Provide technical support to various departments within the company to increase technical understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes. Design and implement equipment to maintain and improve manufacturing processes. Establish equipment layouts to best provide product flow and maximize throughput. Act as departmental liaison to ensure launch readiness, equipment capabilities, and equipment needs.

Essential Duties :

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through lean systems & processes to facilitate production activity increasing throughput and minimizing system waste.
  • Develop manufacturing processes which allow cost effective, quality products to be manufactured (e.g. Process Flow, PFMEA, Manufacturing Plans, 5's, PDCA, A3 and / or 8D)
  • Develop, publish, and maintain all applicable SOP's and work instructions for all operator functions.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems and the ability to apply these concepts within a manufacturing environment.
  • Participate in equipment specification, selection, layout, and installation.
  • Support all departments within the manufacturing facility providing technical expertise and leadership.
  • Evaluate and establish methodology.
  • Experienced with AutoCAD
  • Educate and train associates on the ways to improve the company's products, machines, and processes.
  • Support Launch readiness.
  • Analyze data and equipment specifications to establish cycle times and production protocols.
  • Identify opportunities to increase capacity, reduce costs, and improve quality and safety.
  • Assist in the selection of manufacturing equipment and work area tools, research new manufacturing equipment and process applications.

Requirements

Requirements & Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, maintain records, and to work with interruptions.
  • Self-directed and self-motivated in job-related tasks.
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and experience with preventative (predictive) maintenance.
  • Progressive approach to maintenance and process improvement driven.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan and schedule work effectively with a production team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
  • TPM experience, HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and MS Office suite

  • The associate will frequently be required to stand for long periods of time and to occasionally sit, bend, or stoop to perform certain tasks.
  • The associate will frequently be required to make coordinated hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects.
  • The associate must frequently lift and / or move up to 55 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The associate must be able to wear personal PPE, including gloves, masks, etc., when required.
