Scope: Develop and/or improve products and processes by managing and leading assigned projects as well as providing support for internal process change requests and corrective actions.

Essential Duties:

· Provide leadership by participating in the investigation, management, and execution of New Product Development as well as continuous improvements of existing products to achieve all project goals within the given constraints (time, scope, and cost)

· Serve as interdepartmental NPD project manager and liaison between Sales & Marketing, Quality, Operations, Product Development, and the assigned outside contract client.

· Manage and coordinate activities related to projects within the department to support timelines.

· Develop and adhere to project timelines and budgets and proactively provide routine updates to clients, sales, and Director of Product Development.

· Ensure information is accurately gathered for NPD quotes and modification to existing product lines (MOL).

· Produce and/or review and sign Preliminary (PSOW) and Final Statements of Work (FSOW)

· Track and report department metrics (PCR, corrective action, New Product Development MMR completion using Project Management Software,

· Proactively communicate with associates and clients as necessary to resolve specific product or project issues.

· Ensure the creation of accurate Master Manufacturing Records in compliance with relevant regulatory bodies (GMP, FDA, NASC, AAFCO), internal SOPs, and any additional requirements as established by the client.

· Assist in the development of written specifications for raw materials, packaging, in-process, and finished product, including formulas, guaranteed analysis, labels, and other client data required for products.

· Ensure adequate time is spent becoming familiar with operations workflow, essential production equipment, and relevant processes.

· Attend continuing educational events and trade shows related to Human and/or Animal supplement industry.

· Promote food safety and quality awareness throughout the organization.

· Responsible to report all, major or minor food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

· Approve other relevant documentation as necessary.

· Assist with other projects or duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:

· Bachelor of Science in food science, biochemistry, a related discipline or equivalent experience preferred.

· 3 or more years of experience in product development in a GMP regulated environment preferred.

· Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to contribute solutions on multiple ongoing projects.

· Ability to be assertive, creative, proactive, and think outside the box.

· Willing to accept or create new ideas to improve a product.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office.

· Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Function efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.

· Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects at the same time with limited supervision; excellent planning, time management and decision-making skills.

· Strong motivation, level disposition, positive work ethic, leadership and organizational skills.

  • Excellent work history, attendance, initiative and drive to succeed.
  • Maintain excellent communication and relationships with others; be a team player; maintain a positive attitude.
