Position Title: Process Set-Up Technician FLSA
Status: Non- Exempt
Reports To: Process Set-up Supervisor
Scope: Primary responsibilities: Document equipment settings, parameters, and specifications. Introduce process improvements, identity ways to standardize the changeover process, and implement solutions that remove bottleneck and roadblocks within the process.
Essential Duties:
- Changeover manufacturing equipment per specific product being produced.
- Aide in creation of processes and procedures that standardize the changeover process improving consistency and quality.
- Document machine setting, parameters, and specifications that are required per product.
- Identify roadblocks and bottlenecks that negatively affect production efficiencies.
- Assist in the development of work instructions for equipment changeover.
- Generate and implement ideas for faster changeovers that enable more frequent product changes.
- Help identify machine maintenance needs before a failure occurs.
- Submit maintenance work order requests to supervisor as needed.
- Train operators on applicable SOP’s and Work Instructions.
- Immediately notify the area supervisor of any issues that will affect the production schedule.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts as they relate to safety, 6S, quality, and production efficiency.
- Assist with other projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Highly organized self-starter with a positive attitude.
- High mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to be productive and take initiative.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Ability to wear PPE (including gloves, respirator, etc.) when required.
- Occasional bending and/or stooping required to perform certain tasks.
- Ability to follow printed instructions.
- Excellent work history, attendance, initiative and drive to succeed.
- Maintain excellent communication and relationships with other; be a team player; maintain a positive attitude.
- Trained on Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions identified on master training log.
- Perform in a manner consistent with Company Vision/Mission Statement and Core Values.
Physical Environment/Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- The associate will frequently be required to stand for long periods of time and to occasionally sit, bend, or stoop to perform certain tasks.
- The associate will frequently be required to make coordinated hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects.
- The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- The associate must be able to wear personal PPE, including gloves, masks, etc., when required.

- While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
- Associates in the Animal Plant may be exposed to raw ingredients and food allergens (milk, egg, peanut, tree nut, fish, shellfish, soy, wheat).
