Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse, ensuring accurate inventory records, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in shipping and receiving operations, along with proficiency in warehouse equipment, high attention to detail, strong time management skills, as well as be a self-starter.
Responsibilities
- Process incoming and outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Match purchase orders to sales orders and distribute to appropriate personnel for processing.
- Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped.
- Inspect packages for damage and verify contents against shipping documents.
- Move materials and items from receiving or storage to designated areas.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
- Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for customer traffic.
- Assemble customer supply materials from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
- Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
- Open crates and other containers.
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
- Assist in counting of physical inventory and performing cycle counts periodically/ongoing schedule.
- Maintain inventory records.
- Coordinate physical inventory procedures and adjust system as necessary.
- Follow procedures to accurately adjust inventory for over/short, defective, and damaged product.
- Weigh and count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Prepare parcels for mailing.
- Organize warehouse/work area and keep clean at all times.
- Ensure dock are outside dock/will call area stays clear of debris and maintained.
- Cleanliness in rack area all reels are marked per protocol.
Experience
- Minimum one (1) year previous experience in full cycle shipping and receiving and inventory control is required, three (3) or more preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, including loading/unloading procedures. Proficient in MS Office, NetSuite and QuickBook or any of ERP system is preferred
- Experience operating reach trucks or pallet jacks is a plus.
- Basic math skills are essential for verifying shipment quantities.
- Proven knowledge of UPS/FedEx and other 3rd party carrier label creation.
- Proficiency in ISO standards a PLUS
