Department Summary

UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge is a unique Southern California meeting and retreat venue. Located high in the pine-studded San Bernardino Mountains on the tranquil shores of Lake Arrowhead, our 50-acre lodge provides meeting space and accommodations for groups from September through mid-June. During the summer, Bruins Woods Family Camp program runs for ten consecutive weeks, with up to 80 families attending each week.

Position Summary

The Guest Experience Attendants work under the Guest Experience Manager and assist with various guest programs using a point-of-sale system. Their responsibilities include providing efficient and courteous service, managing payments, and meeting patron needs. They also handle inventory, stocking, and maintaining cleanliness. Programs they support include the Retail Store, Arts & Crafts, Arrowhead Adventures, and other guest experience activities at LAL. Their duties encompass program development, preparation, setup, inventory management, organization, instructional support, and cleaning. Additionally, they are responsible for upholding high customer service standards, addressing guest inquiries, and maintaining property amenities.

Salary & Compensation

  • UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications

  • Possess exceptional customer service-orientated skills, demonstrating the ability to effectively cater to guests' needs and provide them with a comfortable experience. (Required)
  • Highly developed interpersonal communication skills, including political acumen and social perceptiveness. (Required)
  • Experience maintaining a high standard of productivity despite frequent interruptions. Ability to complete a large volume of diverse tasks efficiently, meeting established deadlines (Required)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse populations with competing priorities (Required)
  • Ability to use independent, rational judgment, take initiative, and follow through on assignments with minimal direction (Required)
  • Proficient skill using standard business software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite), ability to operate a point of sale system, and hospitality sales software (Required)
  • Skill in writing grammatically correct business English, such as conference proposals, memos, and other routine correspondence (Required)
  • Demonstrated skill in working as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues, and maintaining cooperative working relationships (Required)
  • Ability to use judgment and prior knowledge to make decisions concerning guest services (Required)
  • Ability to identify potential hazards and mitigate these risks to prioritize safety (Required)

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

  • Valid CA Driver License (Required)

Special Conditions for Employment

  • Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
  • Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday work as business dictates (Required)
