UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge property is nestled on 50 wooded acres on the north shore of beautiful Lake Arrowhead in the San Bernardino Mountains. The Bruin Woods Family Camp program runs for 10 consecutive weeks each summer, with up to 80 families attending weekly. Bruin Woods has maintained its reputation as the top alum family camp in the country through an ongoing commitment to superb hospitality and service. We aim to create an environment for families to bond and grow, where kids can be kids and parents can join in all the fun, too.

Salary & Compensation
- UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. - Must be knowledgeable of principles and techniques of: Preventive lifeguarding, water rescues, first aid, and CPR. (Required)
- Ability to swim with proficiency and endurance, analyze situations and adopt a quick, effective course of action. (Required)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse populations with competing priorities. Knowledge of where to find important information within the organization and the ability to discern and communicate relevant information. (Required)
- Skill in interacting effectively with guests, team members, and managers in a high-volume, public setting using positive body language, direct eye contact, active listening, and friendly and professional demeanor. (Required)

- Current American Red Cross (ARC) (or equivalent) Lifeguard Training & First Aid and CPR/AED for Lifeguards Certifications Within 30 days of employment or at first available training (Required)
- ARC Blood Bourne Pathogens, ARC Lifeguard Instructor, ARC Water Safety Instructor Certification(s) (Preferred)
- Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
- Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
- Pre-Placement Physical: Employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory physical examination.
- Driving Record: The position is subject to the California DMV "Pull Notice System" and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record.
- Must be available to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on departmental needs (Required)
- Ability to swim 50 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both, complete a timed swimming event within 50 seconds, and tread water for 2 minutes (Required)
