Position Summary

PSAs regularly patrol campus on e-bikes, assist police at events on campus, respond to calls for service, and otherwise provide a non-sworn, uniformed response option for UCPD.

Salary & Compensation
- UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. - 2 years of recent work experience involving heavy public contact/customer service. Public contact experience should include assisting and providing information to a variety of individuals. (Required)
- Ability to complete a bicycle training course and be able to ride a bicycle as needed. (Required)
- Proficiency in general office, productivity, and computer systems, including Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook). (Required)
- Skill in interacting diplomatically with the public in a high volume, diverse, continuous public contact setting. (Required)
- Ability to work a varied schedule, including weekends, evenings, holidays, on call, overtime and varying shifts, as required. (Required)
- Ability to assess a problematic or emergency situation and plan/execute an appropriate solution in a quick manner. (Required)
- Ability to attend to detail and follow through on all assigned duties and tasks to completion in a proscribed period of time. (Required)

- California Bureau of Security & Investigative Services (BSIS) issued Guard Card Within 6 months (Required)
- Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
- Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
- Age Requirement: Candidate(s) must be 18 years or older to be eligible to be hired.
- Pre-Placement Physical: Employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory physical examination.
- COVID and Flu Vaccinations: The position is subject to providing evidence of inoculation.
- Driving Record: The position is subject to the California DMV "Pull Notice System" and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record.
