Salary range: $30 hourly
As a Music Therapy Fellow, you will assess and meaningfully interact with infants, children, youth, adults and families by providing music therapy activities for individuals and groups at UCLA Health.
You will:
- Creates and maintain therapeutic developmentally appropriate environments for infants, children, youth, adults and families.
- Provide developmentally appropriate music as a primary tool in assessing and meeting psychosocial needs.
- Interpret the patient’s perception of his/her diagnosis and treatment as revealed through music and other means of communication both verbal and non-verbal.
- Demonstrate, explain and/or provides stress reduction techniques to facilitate adaptive coping, matching developmental level, emotional state, situation and stressor.
- Provide emotional support during identified stress points and utilizes music therapy techniques to facilitate adaptive coping for patients and family members.
- Uses music therapy as a diagnostic and treatment tool.
- Advocates on behalf of patient to other hospital staff as necessary so that the best environment for positive coping is provided.
Salary range: $30 hourly
Contract may convert to career.
