What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Resident - PGY2 Solid Organ Transplant position at UCLA Health Careers?
Pharmacist completing this PGY2 SOT Pharmacy Residency Program will be competent practitioners of direct patient care in Solid Organ Transplant environment. In collaboration with the health care team, the PGY2 Solid Organ Transplant resident will provide comprehensive medication management to transplant patients following a consistent patient care process. They will be accountable for achieving optimal drug therapy outcomes in adult and pediatric transplant patients in the inpatient and ambulatory clinic setting. The PGY2 SOT Resident will develop and exercise skills in educating other health care providers and patients. The PGY2 SOT Resident will provide effective medication and practice-related education to solid organ transplant patients, caregivers, and health care providers. They will develop leadership and management skills by taking an active role in medication safety efforts and quality improvement efforts. The resident will complete a research project during this year with the intention to publish and/or present results at pharmacy or transplant meeting/journal. The resident will demonstrate professional maturity by exhibiting a commitment to the profession, and developing a mechanism for personal life-long learning. Furthermore, upon completion of this program, graduates will be positioned to sit for the advanced practice Board Certification exam in Solid Organ Transplantation (BCTXP). The PGY2 Transplant resident will report to the PGY2 Solid Organ Transplant Residency Program Director.
