The David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM), Department of Surgery is seeking to hire a full-time Research Coordinator to join the Population-Health Research Unit (PHRU). This position presents an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced team responsible for providing the A-Zs of population health research–development, implementation, and dissemination. Under the direction of the PHRC Manager, the Research Coordinator will work with a variety of personnel and leading health care researchers (i.e., Principal Investigators, Sub-Investigators, trainees, and national/international collaborators) to complete the following duties:
  • The execution of operations to meet the mission and goals of the program / project assigned.
  • Developing and producing deliverables including presentations, website, social media content, communications, and other materials. This may include works related to IRB protocol submission and approval.
  • Ensuring compliance with all UCLA as well as relevant federal and state regulations.
  • Collaborating in works toward the completion of all program/project activities, research, outreach, and recruitment. Work with research participants on consent and surveys/interviews.
  • Producing weekly status reports, schedules, and drafts documents, data collection/data clean up, and analysis.
  • Creating materials, develops and maintains databases.
  • Event planning from internal meetings to conferences and site visits.
  • Developing and producing program/project deliverables including reports, presentations, website, social media content, communication, and other materials.

Pay Range: $28.30 - $54.74 hourly.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to work independently and also have interpersonal skills to work with teams.
  • Demonstrated writing skills to produce wide range of documents and deliverables.
  • Experience communicating effectively and professionally and working with a variety of internal and external partners, including UCLA administrators, outside funders, policy makers and community representatives.
  • Working knowledge of evaluation, creating datasets, grant writing and proposal submission.
  • Strong organizational skills to successfully work on and track complex programs involving short deadlines and multiple tasks, in coordination with multiple teams to achieve program/project mission and goals.
  • Working knowledge of program/project development, evaluation, creating datasets, financial management and reporting, research principles including CITI training, grant writing and proposal submission, University procedures and policies, program/project related federal and state regulations.
  • Ability to seek out and learn new policies, procedures, and software to advance the mission of the program/project.
  • Ability to train new program/project managers and other staff within and external to the unit.

Salary : $28 - $55
