As a High School Programs Instructor for our summer academic enrichment program, you will guide middle and/or high school students through their first glimpse of the college experience.
In this role, you will be working with the High School and Custom Programs Coordinator. Each instructor is responsible for developing a course curriculum, syllabus, and lesson plans based on existing course descriptions. Additional responsibilities include the request and management of supplies, daily attendance, writing an evaluation for each student at the end of each course, and teaching multi grade level students all while providing an energetic, interactive, and project based classroom experience.
The ideal candidate genuinely wants to make a difference in the lives of our students, who come from around the world to participate in this rigorous and rewarding program to gain valuable insight into what on campus life will be.


Salary & Compensation



  • UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications


  • Experience developing curriculum, lesson plans, and managing a classroom. (Required)
  • Ability to set expectations and enforce appropriate student behavior. (Required)
  • Ability to effectively present information varied ages in groups of 10 - 25. (Required)
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills. (Required)
  • Strong leadership, problem solving, customer service, and organizational skills. (Required)
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and multi-task. (Required)
  • Possession of the professional level of expertise in respective discipline to be conducted and demonstrated teaching ability. (Required)

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations


  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in related field; or and equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required)

Special Conditions for Employment


  • Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
  • Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
  • Age Requirement: Candidate(s) must be 18 years or older to be eligible to be hired.
  • CANRA: The position is designated as a mandatory reporter under CANRA. The employee must sign the "Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse".
