Job Overview
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the administrative functions of the Nursing Program, including planning, implementation, and evaluation. The successful candidate will have a Master's Degree in Nursing and three years of experience in nursing program administration or teaching.
- Plan, develop, and administer the Practical Nursing Program in accordance with state law, regulation, accreditation standards, and College policy.
- Oversee administrative tasks such as agency contracts, criminal history background checks, and health clearance.
- Assist students with concerns and complaints.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Director of Nursing will oversee the admission and orientation process, plan outcomes assessment for nursing, ensure accuracy of Student Handbook and related documents, and develop appropriate course schedules. They will also maintain a current and relevant nursing curriculum and manage health-related grants.
- Maintain a nursing curriculum that is current, relevant, and directed at program learning outcomes.
- Manage all health-related grants, including Perkins, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, etc.
- Recommends staffing of all nursing faculty.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree in Nursing, three years of experience in nursing program administration or teaching, and strong interpersonal, administrative, and organizational skills. They must be able to communicate effectively and have knowledge of College practices and management skills.
