About this Position:
This is a full-time (Monday - Friday) 1st shift position (8:45am - 3:15pm). It is primarily based in an Adult Day Program setting at our Old Saybrook, CT location. Our mission is focused on community involvement and as such, we require occasional work in the community with the individuals. You will provide direct care and services centered on enhancing and enriching each Individual's life while promoting independence, self-esteem, respect, and choice.
Position Summary & Job Details:
In this position, the Direct Support Professional provides direct care and services to individuals with physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities.
- Provide direct care including but not limited to toileting and personal hygiene.
- Respond to and act on any accident, emergency, incident, and medical problem.
- Provide skill-building and sensory stimulating activities that center on enriching each participant's life.
- Act as an advocate and a role model for the individuals and encourage attitudes and behaviors that enhance community inclusion.
- Provide transportation to/from the program, the individuals homes and the community, using an agency vehicle.
- Complete the necessary documentation in Therap and/or other recordkeeping sources.

Requirements:
- Current driver’s license, auto insurance & clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check
- Willingness to assist individuals with personal hygiene
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Technology competency
Education & Experience:
*High School Diploma required
- Six months to two years related experience, desired but not required
