Adult Companion Responsibilities
As an Adult Companion, you will provide non-medical care to a functionally disabled senior who lives in Adams, MA. The goal of this role is to help members stay safely in their home. You will help with meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping and other daily living activities. This service is provided in accordance with a therapeutic goal in the service plan.
Adult Companion Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- A high school diploma, or have life or work experience with individuals with disabilities and/or seniors
- Awareness of diabetic skin care needs
- Detail oriented and observant
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Appropriate communication skills to effectively communicate with member, caregiver and other stakeholders
- Be able to handle emergency situations
- Have certification in CPR/First Aid or ability to be certified
- Valid driver’s license, safe driving record, availability of private vehicle, up-to-date car insurance
- CORI, SORI, DPPC and National Fingerprint Check
- A negative Mantoux TB test or a clear chest x-ray
