Assistant Team Leader (Developmental Disabilities)

UCP Oregon
Portland, OR Full Time
POSTED ON 2/1/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 3/31/2025

Are you passionate about social justice and looking for a caseload management position where you get to focus on a very small caseload?

If so, UCP Oregon might have the perfect opportunity for you! UCP offers great benefits, paid sabbatical for managers, and plenty of opportunities for growth and fun.

UCP Oregon helps adults who experience disabilities to live the life of their dreams—whether that’s living independently, working in a great job, or pursuing their interests and hobbies. We encourage a culture of IDEAS (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Support) and are working towards building a diverse and inclusive workforce to represent and empower the community we support.

We’re currently seeking an “Assistant Team Leader” who will work in our Supported Living Department. You will assist approximately 5 adults who experience various disabilities to live independently in their own houses and apartments. You’ll be part of a close-knit, diverse team, and will get to make a difference every day!

Duties:

  • Support a caseload of approximately 5 adults: 1) create and oversee their plans and associated documentation, 2) manage their health needs (coordinating doctor’s appointments and addressing health concerns), 3) assist with finances (paying bills, banking, and budgeting), 4) provide life coaching, and 5) assist with errands and occasional personal care support.
  • Supervise approximately 8 direct support professionals who work in the homes of the people on your caseload.
  • Assist the Team Leader to lead the team (facilitating meetings, directing employees, and assisting with problem-solving).
  • Serve as part of the department’s management team (reviewing documentation, solving problems, and training new employees).
  • Serve in an on-call capacity responding to critical issues and emergencies approximately 10 to 11 times per year. Every month you are on the pager either Friday through Monday or Monday through Friday (schedule alternates each month) which equates to 4-5 weeks per year.

Hours & Location:

  • Your schedule will be reasonably flexible and self-directed, but you will typically work Monday-Friday, 9am to 5pm, and on occasion, evenings and weekends when you are on-call (4-5 weeks per year).
  • Assistant Team Leaders work a hybrid schedule (2 days in office, 3 days at home or out in the field). However, during your training period, you will be required to work in office on a more regular basis located at NE 102nd Avenue.
