We are seeking a dedicated Caregiver Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide supportive assistance and personal care to individuals with developmental disabilities in their daily living, social, recreational, day services, and community activities.
About the Role:
This position is responsible for providing individualized support to consumers, promoting their independence and autonomy. You will work closely with our Life Skills Administrator/Adult Services Administrator to develop and implement plans tailored to each consumer's needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide supportive assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Assist consumers with meal planning, preparation, and feeding
- Encourage and promote socialization and recreation activities
- Develop and maintain relationships with consumers, families, and other professionals
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Six months of experience working with persons with developmental disabilities preferred
- Possess or acquire self-administration of medication training within the first 90 days of employment
- Maintain certification through retraining and annual recertification as required
Working Conditions:
The Transitional Support Specialist schedules vary based on the needs of the assigned work site and the individual needs of the participants residing at that location.
