Essential Functions:
· Maintain Clinical Competency
o Maintenance of NBCRNA Certification AND
o Continuing Medical Education: Documentation of compliance with the Board of Registered Nursing of California CEU requirements for re-licensure. Educational activities must relate, in part, to the privileges requested and granted AND
o Competency Assessment: Current demonstrated competence and documentation of successful treatment to a minimum of patients, set forth by the Chair/Chief of Department, for the past 24 months based on the results of quality assessment/improvement activities and outcomes AND
o ACLS/CPR/PALS Re-Certification: Certification must be approved by the American Heart Association
· Quality / Financial / Regulatory Compliance
o Active participation in Hospital and Medical Staff Quality Built-In (QBI) activities for pre-op, intra-op and post-op care, such as participation in value stream mapping and kaizen event, as well as adhere to peri-operative safety protocols.
o Comply with bylaws, rules, regulations, guidelines and policies and procedures of Hospital and the bylaws, rules and regulations of the Medical Staff / Advance Practice Providers, including, Hospital Rules and Medical Staff Bylaws applicable to patient relations, scheduling, billing, records, collections, FPPE/OPPE and other administrative matters related to the operation of the Department and/or the Hospital.
o Adhere to CRNA clinical standards/guidelines established by the UCSF Office of Advanced Practice Providers
· Patient Satisfaction
o Hospital will engage a third party to periodically survey patient satisfaction with professional/clinical services provided. Based on survey results, participate in departmental and/or individual plan of action to sustain or improve patient satisfaction.
- · General knowledge of medical terminology.
- · Advanced understanding of anesthesia and other critical nursing skills.
- · Demonstrated patient care skills.
- · Knowledge/experience with clinical & billing documentation in an Electronic Medical and Anesthesia Record (Preferably Epic).
Minimum Education/Certifications:
- · Graduation from an approved program accredited by the Council of Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Education Programs or its predecessor or successor.
- · Master¿s degree in Nursing completion from a Nurse Anesthetist program
Minimum Experience: · Demonstrate current competency by showing evidence that he/she has provided anesthesia services for at least 2000 hours Demonstrate current competency by showing evidence that he/she has provided anesthesia services for at least 2000 hours in the last twenty-four months.
Additional Minimum Requirements:
- · Current California license as a Registered Nurse
- · Active CA Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist license.
- · Certification by the Counsel of Certification of Nurse Anesthetists or by a predecessor or successor
- · Active American Heart Association CPR certification for healthcare providers
- · Active American Heart Association ACLS certification
- · Active American Heart Association PALS certification
Physical Requirements:
