Job Summary:
Under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician transcribes physician orders into computerized patient medication profiles, selects and prepares medications, pharmaceutical products including intravenous admixtures, assists in dispensing and distribution of unit dose medications, maintains pharmacy equipment, generates unit dose and intravenous admixture labels, and transports pharmacy merchandise. The Pharmacy Technician has the ability to perform these functions in all areas in which pharmacy services are provided
Job Requirements:
Education and Training: High school graduate or equivalent and completion of State Board of Pharmacy recognized Pharmacy Technician training program
Required Licenses & Certifications: Have a valid certificate of registration as a licensed Pharmacy technician issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
Experience: Preferred one year experience as a Pharmacy Technician
Skills & Abilities: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Ability to demonstrate competence in the various tasks to be performed. Ability to read, write and comprehend English fluently. Must be able to work and develop respect and rapport with inter and intra-departmental personnel Must be able to work alone and with others.
