What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Improvement Specialist position at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland?
The Quality Improvement Specialist provides data and analytical support to Children's Hospital & Research Cetner Oakland for peer review data management and credentialing systems. Responsible for the design, implementation, and management of reporting and database strategies, for new and ongoing projects, related to medical staff and other quality improvement processes.
POSITION REQUIRMENTS
Education: Bachelors degree in Nursing or health related field.
Minimum Experience: 3-5 years of experience in healthcare data and quality analysis required. Experience in medical staff quality department highly preferred.
Knowledge/Skills Demonstrates: a. Substantial experience with data and trend analysis, statistical reporting, application design and development. b. Proven ability to understand and analyze complex data sets. c. Demonstrated knowledge of project management techniques. d. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills; ability to educate team members, staff from varying departments, physicians and nurses. e. Ability and willingness to adapt to changing priorities and aggressive project deadlines. f. Demonstrated proficiency in presentation and communication skills. g. Familiarity with MS Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint. h. Strong technical skills in the areas of database management.
