What are the responsibilities and job description for the Truck Driver position at UCW Logistics LLC?
Union Compress Warehouse of Cordele (UCWC), the largest independent cotton warehouse in the Southeast, is currently hiring full time CDL Drivers.
The primary function of this position is to efficiently, accurately, and safely deliver products to our customers as dispatched. Drivers are typically HOME EVERY NIGHT.
Responsibilities:
- Willing and able to work safely at all times
- Must be able to drive 10 speed manual transmissions
- Must satisfy all DOT Requirements
- Perform daily pre and post trip inspections of truck
- Ensure that material loaded for delivery matches shipping documents
- Ensure proper weight distribution of materials
- Properly and safely secure materials in the truck to ensure no damage in transit
- Maintain electronic log books, trip reports, and on-board computer as required to ensure they are up to date at all times
- Manage proof of delivery paperwork from customers
- Communicate and interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of products
Requirements:
- Must be at least 23 years old
- Ability to pass DOT drug test and medical examination
- Must have a valid Class A CDL license and an acceptable driving record
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
