The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the commissioning activities for assigned areas of the facility. This role demands a seasoned professional with expertise in the oil and gas industry, capable of ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely startup of complex systems and equipment in harsh and challenging environmental conditions.

What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities):
- Leadership & Supervision:
- Lead and supervise multi-disciplinary commissioning teams within assigned areas, ensuring all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Direct commissioning personnel, contractors, and vendors in the safe execution of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation commissioning tasks.
- Planning & Execution:
- Develop and implement detailed area-specific commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures.
- Lead the execution of pre-commissioning and commissioning activities within assigned areas of the facility.
- Ensure all systems, subsystems, and equipment are fully tested, calibrated, and functional according to design specifications and operational readiness.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Promote and enforce a safety-first culture on-site, ensuring that all commissioning activities are carried out in full compliance with safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and company procedures.
- Review and evaluate safety risk assessments and ensure that hazards are mitigated.
- Work closely with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) teams to maintain a safe working environment
- Technical Expertise:
- Review and verify technical documentation such as P&IDs, commissioning procedures, design drawings, and specifications to ensure proper functionality.
- Troubleshoot any technical issues that arise during commissioning and coordinate with engineering teams for resolution.
- Ensure all required tests, inspections, and certifications are completed in line with project standards.
- Working knowledge of Omega PIMS CMS is a plus.
- Coordination & Communication:
- Act as a point of contact for all commissioning-related activities within the assigned area, ensuring smooth communication between project management, construction, and operations teams.
- Collaborate with the Clients commissioning team to ensure smooth transition of systems from commissioning to operational status.
- Interface with the Client's commissioning team to provide status updates and ensure that commissioning objectives are being met.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in commissioning procedures, and contribute to lessons learned sessions.
- Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all commissioning documentation, including test records, completion certificates, and as-built drawings. Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related field) or equivalent experience in oil and gas commissioning.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of commissioning experience in the oil and gas industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Extensive experience in commissioning oil and gas facilities, including knowledge of systems such as process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation.
- Prior experience working on projects in harsh environments such as the Arctic or remote locations is highly desirable.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide diverse teams.
- In-depth knowledge of commissioning and start-up processes, including system integration and troubleshooting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in high-pressure situations.
- Proficient in using commissioning management software and project management tools.
- Certifications:
- PMP Certification is a plus. Work Schedule & Conditions:
- Rotation-based schedule.
- Must be able to work in remote, harsh Arctic conditions with limited access to resources.
- Must be able to pass a pre employment physical and drug screen.
