Reports to: Commissioning Engineer
Rotation: Full-Time / Rotation-Based (e.g. 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off)
Pay Rate: $70 – $75 Hourly

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Commissioning Lead to support the commissioning process for an oil and gas facility located on the North Slope of Alaska.
In this role, you will assist the Commissioning Engineer and lead smaller teams to ensure the safe and efficient testing and commissioning of systems and equipment at the facility. This is an excellent opportunity for an early- to mid-career professional looking to gain valuable experience in a challenging environment.
What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities):System and Equipment Testing:
Participate in the testing and startup of equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
Documentation Support:
Help prepare and maintain commissioning documentation, including procedures, test records, and punch lists. Ensure all documents are accurate and up to date.
Safety Compliance:
Follow and enforce safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for the commissioning team. Report any safety issues or concerns promptly.
Coordinate Team Members:
Assist in the coordination of commissioning technicians and subcontractors, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely and safe manner..
Track Commissioning Progress:
Help track and report progress against the commissioning schedule, assisting the Commissioning Engineer with updates and status reports.
Troubleshooting Assistance:
Support the troubleshooting and resolution of any issues that arise during commissioning. Work closely with senior team members to address problems efficiently.
Client Communication:
Assist in communicating commissioning progress to the client as required, ensuring clear and consistent updates on activities and any challenges encountered.
Qualifications:
Experience:
2-4 years of experience in commissioning or a related field, preferably within the oil and gas industry. Experience in remote or extreme environments is a plus.
Knowledge & Skills:
Basic understanding of oil and gas systems (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems).
Familiarity with commissioning procedures, methods, and industry standards.
Strong ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and specifications).
Basic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in industrial environments.
Communication Skills:
Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions.

- Assist in Commissioning Activities:
- Support the Commissioning Engineer and senior commissioning staff in executing commissioning activities for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related technical field) or equivalent experience
- Must be able to work in remote, harsh Arctic conditions with limited access to resources.
- Schedule: Rotational shift (e.g., 21days on/21 days off) with 12-hour daily shifts.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks related to commissioning activities.
- Must be able to pass a pre employment physical and drug screen.
