This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing leak testing activities to verify the integrity of piping systems, vessels, and components during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in leak testing procedures, understands industry codes and standards, and is capable of working in challenging Arctic conditions.

This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing leak testing activities to verify the integrity of piping systems, vessels, and components during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in leak testing procedures, understands industry codes and standards, and is capable of working in challenging Arctic conditions.
What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities):
- Develop and implement leak test procedures in compliance with ASME, API, and client-specific standards.
- Coordinate with construction and commissioning teams to plan and execute leak test activities.
- Supervise hydrostatic, pneumatic, service and nitrogen leak tests as required.
- Review and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and test packs to identify system boundaries and test requirements.
- Ensure all safety and environmental protocols are followed during testing operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of test procedures, results, and punch lists.
- Troubleshoot and identify sources of leaks using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Participate in risk evaluations for testing activities.
- Supervise technicians or contractors involved in leak testing operations.
Qualifications:
- Bacherlor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred), or equivalent field experience.
- 5 years of experience in leak testing in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial environments.
- Familiarity with industry codes such as ASME B31.3, API 570, and NACE standards.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and documentation.
- Strong understanding of safety standards and environmental regulations in arctic operations.
- Ability to work in extreme cold weather and remote conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass site-specific medical and background checks.
- Rotation-based schedule.
- Must be able to work in remote, harsh Arctic conditions with limited access to resources.
- Must be able to pass a pre employment physical and drug screen.
- Experience with nitrogen/helium leak detection.
- Background in mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, or commissioning.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to lead teams and manage testing scope across multiple systems.
