Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients.
- Review patient records for accuracy and completeness before billing.
- Utilize coding systems such as ICD-10 to ensure proper coding of diagnoses and procedures.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and manage accounts receivable.
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim denials or discrepancies.
- Maintain organized medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing issues.
- Credentialing and re-credentialing of providers with insurances
- Posting insurance payments to the appropriate accounts
Requirements
- Current Resume Required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in medical billing
- Thorough understanding of credentialing and re-credentialing processes for providers to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding (ICD-10), and billing systems
- Meticulous attention to detail required
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
- Experience with medical collections
