Job Summary
We are seeking experienced and detail-oriented Utility Line Locators to join our team for after hour or weekend part time work. App based booking under the Beyond 811 applications for android and apple. Flexible schedule for morning/evening and weekend availability with 48-hr notice for any utility locates. We serve Indiana, Michigan, and parts of Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and marking underground utility lines to prevent damage during excavation and construction activities.
Responsibilities
- Accurately locate and mark underground utilities, provide photos and a general map of utilities located using google maps or provided account with "subsurface solutions".
- Interpret blueprints and utility maps to identify the location of utilities.
- Conduct field surveys to assess the area of known or possible utilities in the area and provide locating needs before excavation begins.
- Maintain detailed records of utility locations and any relevant findings.
- Have your own transportation and utility locating equipment to complete jobs. Minimum requirements of a modern EM Locator... RD, Vivax, or equivalent for Basic Locates. Ground penetrating radar along with fish tape, locatable rodder, or camera system for Advance Locates.
- Provide exceptional customer service while interacting with clients and contractors in the app or the field.
Experience
- Minimum experience of 3 years in public or private utility locating is mandatory. Must have experience in gas, electric, copper telecom, coax cable, and fiber communications.
- Locators with ALT, Auditing, Damage investigations, or troubleshooting experience may bypass communication experience as long as they have the minimum 3 years of experience necessary with gas and electric.
- Familiarity with water and sewer locating advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various outdoor environments.
