UDR is seeking qualified candidates for a Electrical Engineer / NEC Electrical Inspector opportunity in Carlsbad, NM at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) .
Work Location : On-Site at WIPP
Per diem is available for those who qualify.
DUTIES
The Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is the nation's only permanent nuclear waste repository for defense-generated transuranic (TRU) waste generated from Department of Energy (DOE) sites across the country. Waste is permanently isolated over 2,000 feet underground in deep salt beds.
Duties :
- Will be responsible for inspecting electrical installations, systems, and equipment to ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes and standards, such as NFPA 70, National Electrical Code.
- Interface with Field Engineers for inspection priorities and provide installation guidance to ensure adherence to code requirements.
- Review design documents for constructability.
- Monitor equipment installation reviews specifications, instruction manuals and technical data.
- Other electrical engineering duties, as required.
Qualifications :
A Professional Engineer license is an acceptable alternative to a bachelor's degree.
