About The Position
Responsible for construction of new facilities or modifications and maintenance to existing Energy Delivery facilities through use of contractor personnel.
Key responsibilities include:
● Manage contractor personnel for construction of Energy Delivery facilities. Responsibilities include daily contact with contractor supervisory personnel to assess manpower, equipment, tools and material needs for specific projects. Also address contractor productivity and quality issues including overtime requirements, quality, and jobsite safety.
● Provide constructability review of specifications and drawings to assure effective utilization of construction materials, resources and techniques.
● Assist the Project Manager / Engineer in the development of the critical path project schedule to ensure realistic and achievable construction activity duration and sequence.
● Complete a detailed assessment of project requirements, including but not limited to: material, construction access and restoration, construction techniques and jobsite security prior to contractor mobilization. Provide onsite field management and coordination as required for the direction of construction forces with respect to critical path scheduling requirements, material deliveries, sub- contractor activities.
● Interpret and convey Ameren provided design specifications, drawings and job instructions to contractor personnel.
● Administer job working rules, workman’s protection assurance (WPA), OSHA and environmental regulations, and ongoing Ameren operating procedures.
● Maintain day-to-day surveillance of construction activities to assure compliance with specifications, drawings and job instructions. Initiate and evaluate jobsite safety and quality control procedures of the contractor.
● Organize and conduct regular scheduling meetings to ensure contractor critical path schedule adherence and to resolve interference/interface problems.
● Perform field engineering and design decisions to avoid cost overruns or schedule delays.
● Administer all aspects of construction projects including: o Monitor, evaluate and log project change request (PCR's) o Maintain files of all correspondence and information received from contractors. o Review and approve contractor billings. o Document and address non-conformance issues relating to quality o Ensure as-built drawings are accurate and complete and internal mapping updates are completed as necessary.
● Provide public relations and liaison between Ameren, the contractor, property owners, other utilities and regulatory authorities as required for construction work on Ameren property.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university required. Professional Engineer License preferred. Seven or more years of project construction or project leadership related experience required. Supervisory or team/contractor leadership experience preferred.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
Proficiency with project construction schedules; Good leadership, management, analytical, communication and human relations skills preferred; Adaptability and flexibility.

Compensation Range:
$108,400.00 - $168,000.00At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
