What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Control Panel Builder position at UEP Panels?
The Panel Builder is responsible for the physical assembly and wiring of industrial control panels. The Panel Builder will build panels to print including laying out and physically mounting devices to back panels, wiring per print and testing the panel to ensure that it is built according to plan.
Responsibilities
- Read and follow electrical schematics in written and diagram form
- Lay out, drill, tap, and assemble electrical sub-panels and enclosures
- Assemble electrical control panels, junction boxes, and install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assembly casings
- Solve problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations
- Learn and use material flow and job packets information
- Complete all required reports and associated paperwork
- Maintain a professional appearance
Competencies
- Working knowledge of electrical theory and wiring principles
- Proficiency with common power tools – hand drill, etc.
- Utilize small hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers and pliers.
- Complete point to point wiring, and install a wide variety of electrical components including PLC's, relays, lights, switches, etc.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Clear, concise, and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills including file structure and navigation
- Ability to utilize time management software
- Self-motivated, focused and results oriented. Self-determined and driven to achieve defined goals.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment. Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations;
- Can work autonomously and within a team
