We are seeking a Mid-Level Hydrogeologist to support a variety of water resource and environmental related projects. The successful candidate will have opportunities to support interesting and challenging projects conducting field data collection, drilling and well installation oversight, data management and analysis, and report preparation while learning and working under the direction of a Professional Geologist/Hydrogeologist. - Conduct fieldwork and help with the preparation of various reports under the direction of a Professional Geologist/Hydrogeologist.
- Hydrogeologic evaluations, well drilling and pumping tests, baseline hydrology monitoring, environmental monitoring, geologic evaluations, field sampling plans, sampling and measurements of soils, groundwater, and surface water, and environmental assessments.
- May include exposure to other environmental services, including soil or groundwater assessment, remediation, air quality compliance, stormwater management, and biological resource surveys, depending on the available workload and prior education and experience.
- The position is based in Reno, Nevada, and fieldwork may be required throughout the state and in neighboring states (CA, ID, UT, AZ, OR).
- Help ensure project work is performed in accordance with applicable health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Learn to use geotechnical engineering software and tools for analysis and reporting.
- Support cost estimating and proposal development efforts by compiling data and assisting with documentation.
- Maintain organized project records, logs, and data files in accordance with company standards.
- Participate in quality assurance/quality control processes to support consistent and accurate deliverables.
- BS in Hydrogeology, geology, geologic engineering, or closely related field of study.
- Minimum 3-5 years professional experience in hydrogeology.
- Knowledgeable in common field methods for well drilling and pumping tests, sampling for water quality, hydrologic field measurements.
- Understanding of fundamental hydrogeologic analytical methods and their application.
- Proficiency with GIS and Excel.
- You must possess a valid driver’s license, have a clean driving record, and have the ability to travel to various worksite locations as needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and working with project teams.
- Basic understanding of construction methods, site safety, and environmental regulations is helpful.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Willingness to work in both field and office environments and travel to project sites as needed.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate a proactive, collaborative mindset.
