Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for an Inpatient Coder at UF Health Central Florida. The Inpatient Coder will be responsible for assigning medical codes to patient records based on provided documentation, ensuring accurate billing and reimbursement. The role will involve reviewing patient information for pre-existing conditions, verifying diagnoses, and ensuring compliance with coding guidelines.
Qualifications
- In-Patient Coding Experience and Medical Coding skills
- RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) certification
- Health Information Management knowledge
- Proficiency in Medical Terminology
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and remotely
- Experience with ICD-10 coding system
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance
Requirements
- High School
- AHIMA or AAPC
- Must reside in state of Florida, Georgia or South Carolina
- Must be able to commute to Leesburg for new hire procedures
