Responsibilities
The Sterile Processing Technician, under the direction of the unit charge nurse, collects, cleans, disinfects, inspects and sterilizes surgical instruments and other medical equipment. Maintains code carts, chest carts, urology carts. Cleans hospital wide equipment as needed.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma/GED
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Certification in surgery technology required
Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required
Completion of formal central service technician or surgery technologist program required. 2-5 years of central service, surgery, or patient care work experience is required.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
